Roof Repair Smedway built its Hail Damage Roof Repair division around one idea: homeowners in East Setauket deserve a straight answer, a fair price, and a truck in the driveway fast.
Roof Repair Smedway didn't start as a franchise looking for a market to plant a sign in. Our crews trained on real tear-offs, real ridge vents, and real attic inspections in East Setauket, NY before we ever put a truck on the road under this name.
We carry full liability coverage and workers' compensation, and every lead installer holds current state licensing, so a claim adjuster, a home inspector, or your own insurance carrier can verify our credentials without a single awkward phone call.
Roofing is a trade where shortcuts hide for a year or two and then fail at the worst possible moment, usually during the next hard rain. We build every Hail Damage Roof Repair job — big or small — the same way, whether it's a single shingle repair or a full tear-off.
Every lead technician carries current state credentials before stepping on a ladder.
Storm damage doesn't check a calendar, so neither does our on-call rotation.
No surprise charges once the crew is already on your roof.
Faster arrival times because the truck was already nearby.
Most roof failures don't happen overnight — they build quietly for months before a homeowner notices the ceiling stain that finally forces the issue.
Asphalt shingles shed protective granules as they age, and a gutter full of grit usually means the surface layer is wearing thin.
Shingle edges that curl upward have usually lost flexibility, which makes them far more likely to crack or blow off in the next storm.
Visible light through the roof deck is a direct sign the barrier between your attic and the weather has been compromised.
Sagging drywall or a soft spot underfoot in the attic usually points to sustained moisture damage, not a one-time drip.
If upstairs rooms feel noticeably warmer than the rest of the house, a failing roof system is a common hidden cause.
A visible bare patch after a windstorm means the roof's weather barrier has a direct gap that needs covering immediately.
Not every roof problem calls for the same fix, which is why we scope each job individually instead of running every call through one generic estimate.
When high wind or hail peels back a section of roofing, our on-call crew tarps the exposed area to stop active water intrusion before it reaches the decking, then schedules the permanent repair.
From a handful of cracked shingles to a full asphalt or metal system replacement, our residential crews scope the job against manufacturer specs, not guesswork.
We schedule commercial jobs around business hours whenever possible, minimizing disruption to tenants, staff, or foot traffic.
Old, layered shingle systems often need a full tear-off rather than an overlay, and we'll tell you honestly which one your roof actually needs.
Post-storm inspections give homeowners a documented record for insurance purposes, whether or not a claim is ultimately filed.
If a roof has an unusual pitch, an older material system, or a custom architectural feature, our senior crews handle the scoping personally.
A dispatcher takes down your address, roof type, and the issue, then routes it to the nearest available crew in East Setauket, NY.
The inspection covers decking condition, flashing points, and ventilation, not just the obvious problem area.
You receive an itemized, written estimate before any work begins, covering materials, labor, and disposal.
A final walkthrough confirms the repair or install meets the agreed scope before the invoice is closed out.
Response windows are communicated upfront, not left as a vague "sometime this week."
Flat-rate pricing means the quote you approve is the quote you pay, barring a scope change we'll flag with you first.
Our installers train on manufacturer specifications for shingles, underlayment, and flashing systems, not just general carpentry.
We'd rather send a crew back for a five-minute fix than leave a customer unsure whether the job was done correctly.
Storm-damage jobs come with photo documentation formatted for insurance adjusters, saving homeowners a step in the claims process.
If a repair is all your roof needs, we'll say so — we don't push a full replacement to inflate the invoice.
A verbal promise doesn't hold up when you need it — that's why our guarantee is documented, dated, and handed to you at project close.
We also guarantee the estimate itself: barring a scope change you approve in writing, the number on your written quote is the number on your final invoice.
Our East Setauket coverage area extends across East Setauket, NY, and if your address falls just outside the standard zone, dispatch can usually still arrange a visit.
If a storm system moves through East Setauket, NY and call volume spikes, we prioritize active leaks first and communicate realistic wait times for everything else rather than leaving people guessing.
